Interment In City Cemetery This morning. Manv friends gathered «t the home of Mra. Amoa Clurke, on Monte Satio, lhi» morning to attend the last sad rftea over the remains of Miss Mary Frcrman. Dr. Burrows officiated and the remains were laid to rest tn the city cemoteiy under a fragrant mound of flowers soot by sorrowing friends. GOING HOME TONIGHT. Excursionists, Who Arrived Yester. day Still in City. The excursionists who arrived here last afternoon over the Charleston and Western Carolina railroad will leave to night for home. The streets around the depot are tilled with them today wait ing for train time. Strange to say, a lurge number of these excursionists have not left the depot for more than a block since they arrived. A LITTLE ONE’S DEATH. Infant of Mr. and Hrs Charles Young blood Dead. The sympathy of mans friends is ex tended to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Young blood on the death of their infant child. The little one died at six o'clock at their hom on Meyer street. The fu neral occurred this afternoon from the residence. A Neat Idea. Co!. Dyer has originated quite a neat Idea. It is making practical business use of the well known, "spieling” borne. Col. The Baltimore and Ohio railroad got the contract for transport ing the Sth. the West Shore the 10th. and the Pennsylvania railroad the bat teries. MR. ALBERT MATCH. Nephew of Mr. Albert Hatch, of This City, Died at Tennille. Sandersvflle, Sept. 20. The re mains of young Albert S. Hatch of Tennille. who died there on Friday night, wore interred in the cemetery at this place yesterday. Rev. Mr. Thompson of Tennille conducted the last rad rites. A special train brought a large conconnte of friends to the funeral. A truly Christian and kind and gen tle spirit won for him the friendship of all with whom he became acquain ted. His life, though short, was one of exceeding brightness, and will stand out as a model for the young men of this section. Bryant Meets a Fearful Death Near Woodruff. Woodruff. S.-C.. Sept. 20 —An account comes here today of the sad death of I Mr. Evict Bryant, a prosperous young farmer living near Derbln church. Just , across on the side. Mr. Bry ant hait employed Cook Bros, to saw- a hill of lumber- for a new residence, and had gone over to the mill to see how they were progressing in the work. Just as the Inst plank was being sawed : he Jumped upon the carriage for some reason, It I* not known why. He be- j came overbalanced, and saw he was. going to fall, so he made an effort to ! Jump across, but slipped and felt across the saw, and in an Instant he was sawed in half, billing him Instantly. Mr. Bryant was well known In this \ town, and his family has our deepest sympathy. BUYING KLONDIKE HINES. A London Company Invests $1,000,- 000. Tacoma, Wash., Sept. 20.—The Alas ka Gold Fields Company, limited, of j London, has purchased, for $1,000,000.1 twenty-three claims on Eldorado. lb>- j nanzn, Dominion. Bulphur and Moose Hide Creeks, Klondike, from Isaac Ro senthal and other claim owners. The sale was negotiated by Guggen helmer, Hnterinyer & Marshall, of New York. The buyers were represented by Mr. J. B. King, of Chicago, cousing of Vice President Hobart. Mr. King has returned from Alaska and confirms the news of the sale. The properties have been examined by an expert taken In by Mr. King a month ago. The pur chaH<> money Is said to he on deposit in the Chemical National Bank. New York. Some months ago the petition for divorce was filed and until the final de cision the amount of alimony was fixed at S2O per month. For some reason or other Mr. Pettyjohn has failed to pay over this amount for the past three monibk. and was yesterday up before Judge Calloway for eontempt of court. Judge Calloway cautioned Mr. Pet tyjohn that unless the deficit were pr.ld by October Ist a more serious le gal action would be taken against him. The amount of alimony was yester day reduced by Judge Calloway from S2O to sls. Bunkley va. Binkley. In the case of Annie L. Bunkley vs. Howell F. A very small negro boy spent last night at police station. He had last afternoon got into a buggy that was standing in front of the Dyer build ing and drove off without asking any body if he might take a ride.
