Japan lo Lecture Here
Rev. C. U Brown, a recently ap
pointed raleslonary to Japan, will be
In Augusta this week and make a cou
ple of addresses. Rev. Brown was ap
pointed hy the Southern Synod, to
which St. Matthews and the Holy
Trinity Lutheran churches of this city
belong.
He will probably get here tomorrow
morning. He Is dsted to msko an
address at the St. Matthews church on
Wednesday night. Thursday he will
speak at the Holy Trinity church. Mr
Brown has been In charge of a Lu
theran church in Graham, Va He
has been selected lo take the place of
Dr. J. A. B. Sheerer, who was forced
to return home on account of 111
health.
He Is making a round of the Luther
an churches which will support him In
the field and he will leave for Japan
about the last of October of the present
year.

that the climate In that section is more

mustered out of the service to Cuba
