A bill to be entitled, An act to re quire sleeping car companies to sep arate white and colored passengers: to extend the police power# of conduc tor* of the trains to which sleeping cats are attached; and for other pur pose#. Section 1. Be tt enacted by the General Assembly of the State of Georgia, That from and after the pas sage of this act, that sleeping car companlea doing buslnesa in this state shall assign pasenger to seat* and berths under their charge so as to sep arate the white and colored races, and the conductor and other employees on the train of cars to which said sleep ing ear or care may be attached shall not permit the white and colored pas sengers to occupy the same car. And any passenger remaining in any car or compartment other than to which he may he assigned shall be guilty of and punished as for a misdemea nor. 2. Be it further enacted by the general assembly.
