TO HOOK AND LADDER MEN
The men of the Hook and Ladder

MISS MORAN KEPT WATER
FOR HOSPITAL PATIENTS-
When the water started to reced
ing Friday and Miss Moran, Supt. of
the city hosptal, found that the wat
er was cut off, she had some' of the
men to get a few tubs of river water.
Alum was put in this water so as to
make it settle and then it was pas
teurized.
This water after it had gone
through the process of purification
was as good as the water from the
pumping station.
It was not found necessary to use
this water, as the hospital received
water from Summerville as soon as
a wagon could go over the streets.
Miss Moran deserves praise for the
manner in which she cared for the
patients during the flood.
