FLOOD RELIEF AT
2 STATIONS NOW
The work of relieving Augusta’s
flood sufferers is now being directed
trom two stations, instead of the sev
eral that wore at first established and
maintained for some time. The Cen
tral Relief bureau, at 318 Mclntosh
street, may he reached by phone 176.
It is in charge of Rev. H. 1,. S. Toom
t-r, his wile, Mr. Luther Campbell,
and Miss Blanche Seats. The Sal
vation Army station is still running
at 1289 Broad street, but will he
closed in a few days, so Mr. Rowland
stated this morning.
All articles of provisions, supplies
or furnishings that were at first ills
tributed are still being given away.
The difference exists now in the
scrupulous care w irich each manager
is taking to see that no unworthy
person tecelves assistance. Each
case is investigated, and if the ap
plicant is worthy, aid is rendered.
Mr. Howland stated today that ap
plications were still coming in
steadily.

pace is smashing world's records.

night, but was uninjured, and went
on. The track was so torn up by the
