the sth January last; he isabout 24 years
of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, very red
complected, has a natural mark on his
right arm in the the size of a dollar,
with a black hair growing on itj hazle
eyes, light hair, by profession a singing
master-—had a bottle-green surtout coat,'
a blue and brown dress coat; he said he
was born near Salisbury, North-Caroli
na, emigrated to this Missouri, and from
thence came here. Jack is about fouty
years of age, likely and brisk, 6 feet or
nearly, high: branded on his right cheek
with the letters I. D. weats wldskers; the
mis of his thumbs and two fingers are
off; on his right hand some grey hairs,
end black complected—it is mobable he
will pass for a servant tosaiu Moore, or
obtain a free pass. Fifty dollars and
ad Reasonable expenses will be paid for
the delivery of Jack to me in Columbia
county, Georgia; and one bundled and
fifty dollars dor the said Samuel Moore,
or nis conviction. *

Die 25th December, 1816, re
siding in Columbia county, a negro fel
low named JIM, about S 5 or 36 years of
age, dark complexion, about 5 feet 8 or
10 inches high, rather stoon shouldered, *
and somewhat knockneed, with large
fiat feet, and when, walking his toes
pretty much turned out; he ha* a vacancy
in his upper fore teeth, and when laugh
ing may, perceive a small particle of flesh
between them. I have reason to sup
pose that he is occasionally harbored in
Augusta and near Washington, as he has
connections living in both places. The
above reward and all reasonable expen
ses will be paid to any person who may
apprehend said fellow and deliver him
to me, or secure him in any safe jail so
that 1 get him again.

ing in the state of Georgia, Olgethssrpe
county, near the Goose-pond on Broad
i'iver, a. stout made very black negro
man by the name,of JOHN, and also
calls himself Carter; a Black-smith by
trade, about 26 years of age, about 5 feet
10 inches in height; left home on Christ
mas day last—lie was raised in the state
of Virginia, pear Leesburgh, in -Lowderi
county; short visage, speaks plain and
loud, and laughs the same. 1 expect he
will aim to go to Virginia or fall in with
some, white person to take him .oft’and
sell him; different clothes when he
went off, a blue broadcloth coat, dark
cassimere pantaloons and black hat; had
about fifteen dollars in silver, and ex
pected to have a pocket book with seven
hundred and fifty dollars in b'lls, chiefly
hundred dollar bills on the banks of this
state. Any person apprehending sa’d
fellow, and delivering him to me orany
safe jail, and give information to*the
subscriber in State and county,
shall receive the above rewaid, with alt
reasonable expenses.

quired in all militia coses, and in cases ' I

and surgeon’s certificate have been lost
or destroyed, or where they- have never
been originally-granted, to enable the
secretary of war to grant pensions, viz: I “
