I 11th. We present as a grievance and
fl disgrace to the county, the, state of the
Bomt-house. Always inconvenient, it is
Bow from its ruinous condition’, utterly
Bnfit for the purposes lor which it was
Intended. The feelings of every person
Bho has been compelled to remain in it
muring the inclement weather of the pre-
Kent term, will witness the truth of this
Statement. From its local situation, it,
■with the records it contains, are con
iFtanlly liable to destruction by fire. Be
lieving it incapable of being made safe
iur comfortable by any repairs, we do ear
fccstly recommend that a new one be
lerected on a better plan, and in a more
Idigible place. And that flic legislature
arto authorise the Inferior Court to levy
gin extra tax in aid of the county funds
■or this purpose.
13th. We unite with his honor the
Budge in opinion, that it will be unavail
ing for laws to be enacted to suppress
paining, unless public horse races are al
so prohibited. These assemblages-of the
Bnost notorious gamblers are fraught
pvith danger to public morals, and not
■infrequently result in the ruin rtf Inex
perienced youthund innocent families—
Rhe nursery of almost every vice is the
fikace ground.
I 15th. We present our thanks to his
Jiopor'Judge Reid, for his luminous
