has recently undergone considerable im

retired, and within the immediate
•vicinity of business. In the management
and arrangement of then- house, a strict
and particular regard will be always paid
to the comfort and quiet of their custom*
ers. The slightest breach of decorum can
not be tolerated within their doors. Their

visions the market affords, and their Mar

tion. In their rooms and bedding a con

W ILL Be given for JOHN, the car
riage driver, a tall vellow, very artful and
likely fellow, of 2 i years old, of a coarse
voice, had on when he went off, a glazed
leather hat, dark homespun pantaloons and
a round jacket, either of blue cloth or
striped homspun. John being unwilling
to be left at a sumtner residence in Fair
field District, South Carolina; towk on the
eleventh 1 instant"one of HU masu«-u o«,rl
age horses, took also a spare bridle round
his shoulders and made his escape to go,
as he said, to the plantation on Black
Swamp, St Peter’s Parish, S. Carolina.—
He rode bare backed, was traced unto
Granby ferry below Columbia. He there
rode the same laige bay horse on which
he made his escape, the horse biith trots
and paces, a star in his forehead, his hind
feet or pastern joints appear as if they
were swelled, and it is believed he has
one or both hind feet white. Five dollars
reward will be given lor the horse. It is
presumed John will endeavour to make
his way to Augusta, where he lias an un
cle a free yellow man, perhaps by the
name of Kitt, from whom lie may obtain a
free pass, may alter his name and dress,
and try to make his escane to Virginia, sr
he may be employed on the river as a
boat hand. Any perskh who apprehends
said John and secures him so well in some
safe jail, as that the subscribe) gels him
shall receive the above reward.
