I THE publishers promise little more
an, that in point of typographical extett
n is useful matter the SELECTOR shall
npare with any paper now published in
state. The primary object will be to
resent such a compendium of religious
I'.d political affairs, as to afford a satisfac
ory knowledge ol the church and state:
utd to exhibit the state of religion in ev
ry part of the world, as far as it can be
ascertained. The SKI,ECTOR will con
■atn considerable original matter, with |
itoice selections on the most important
principles of the Christian religion. A I
part will also lie devoted to the eshihi-)
tion of the naked facts, and convincing |
reasons, which announce to parents the ;
hoar’dless good that will result from early ;
and confirmed habits of morality and reli
gion in children; together with the im- 1
portance of avoiding every thing, which in
its nature is calculated to corrupt and vi
tiate the heart.
Situate 1 as we are, in the interior of a

fill and enrich our pages, we trust that !
the objects of the paper are such as may, -
and will be effected. Intending as we do,
to exclude every thing calculated to
wound the feelings of any, and aiming in
every case to promote the best interest of i
all, we shall receive and insert with pleas- i

domestic, worthy of publication for the
proposed objects of the paper.
