Teeth and Gums. i THE diseases of the Teeth and Gums are chiefly owing to our own neg- * lect; the parts of the aliments which ’ lodge about them after mastication, grow- ' ng acrid and corro-ive, the gums are 1 hereby first affected, as being the most 1 tender parts, and after these corrections I are produced, commonly called the Tar- 1 tar of the Teeth, which, destroying both their texture and whiteness, not only deprives t.ie mouth of its principal orna ments, but brings on violent tooth aches, and renders the Gums livid and putrid, and offensive to ourselves and others.— But though people in general may pre vent those inconveniences, by care and attention at first, yet, if they are once Suffered to take place, it is no longer in , the power of the sufferer to remove them, : this being properly the province of the 1 experienced Dentist, who hath made the maladies of the Teeth and Gums, with their attendant evils, the principal object and end of his studies. Mr. Florancr, Dentist, By long pr dice, ariose application to business, and a thorough knowledge of the structure of the Teeth and Gums, has made all the operations in those parts quite familiar to him, insomuch (hat what seme Dentists have judged imprac ticable, he hath performed with ease snd safety. He places Teeth, both real and artifi cial, (making the latter with pure ena mel,) from a single one to an entire set, so accurately, tlrat they shall answer every purpose of the natural. Thus the greatest deficiencies are supplied with ornaments, which have the recommenda tion of utility Those Teeth that have fallen out of their sockets, which frequently happens, though in a perfect sound state, he, by a method peculiar to himself, replacps as firm as ever, without the least pain or uneasiness to the patient. He clears the Teeth, if ever so disco loured, of all their foulness and tartar, without paia, and renders them white and as fair as ever in half an hour. Teeth and Stumps extracted in the easiest manner, if ever so difficult. He assists young Ladies and Gentle men in the first and second dentition, aiid removesthe Milk Teeth at proper sea sons, lest they should incommode the re gula-growth of the succeeding ones ; and If a deformity of this kind has taken place, through the want of a skilful Dentist, Mr. Florance undertakes to correct it, provided the subject is not more than twenty years old, and restore the Teeth to their natural, regular and beautiful order.
