is now removed. I have purchased the

Every possible exertion will be used to
render satisfaction to the parents and

of the former teachers, who will attend
to all the branches heretofore taught—
having the assistance of her brother,
James Wtkeinari, who i* liberally edu
cated and will teach some branches not
heretofore taught, such as Natural
Philosophy, Astronomy and the higher
branches of Mathematics, kc.

Catholic Miscellany.
rjIHK United States Catholic Miscel-

sufficient support. As a considerable
number of subscribers has lately uecu
obtained and more expected, it will re
appear in May next. Should this not be
the case, the proportion due to those who
subscribed will be returned.
The topics which it will embrace are,
I. The simple explanation and temper
ate maintenance of the doctrines of the
Roman Catholic Church ; in exhibiting
which, its conductors are led to hope,
that many sensible persons will be aston
ished at finding they have imputed to Ca
tholics doctrines which the Catholic
Church has formally condemned ; and
imagined they were contradicting Calho
lies, when they held Catholic doctrine
themselves.
11. The examination of history for the
purpose of investigating the truth oi'ma
ny assertions which have been, perhaps,
too lightly hazarded, and which have ob
tained 100 ready and too general cre
dence ; and which have excited unfound
ed prejudices in the minds of many well
disposed individuals.
111. The correct statement of occur
rences regarding the Catholic religion :
for the purpose of better discharging
which duty, comnumibatious and peri
odical publications from Rome, Paris
London, Dublin,Canada, South America,
the various parts of the United States,
and other portions of the world will be
obtained, and are solicited.
IV. Memoirs and anecdotes of the
several eminent persons who have distin
guished themselves in the Church, or
against it, in ancient and modern times.
V. A summary of political events and
domestic occurrences.
VI. Occasional review's of religious
publications.
