ORIGINAL TOWN
OP
HAMBURG
¥OH s.VVA-.,
ON long credit, without interest, titles
from the State, and exemption from
Taxes
1 lie Stale of South-Cnrolina having
lately purchased, nt a Sale under a decree
m'Equity, the whole ofthe Original Town
ol Hamburg, the undersigned, in pursu
ance ofauthority vested in them by tbe
Legislature, will oiler forSrdc and Bent,
at public Auction, in Hamburg, on Tues
day tho lillh day of October next, all
the improved LOTS in that part ofthe
I own, which is owned by tin* State, ex
tending from Mcßride’s Tavern, south,
to the Bridge, including that extensive
and valuable Wnre-Houee,built by Mr.
Blmit/,, 300 feet long and 50 feet wide, di
rectly on the margin ofthe river, and cu
pable of containing 5000 bags of Cotton.
They will also, otter some unimproved
Lots. The terms ofthe sale are liberal;
a credit of one, two and three years, with
out interest, the instalments being equal,
and as the State is the proprietor, the
lilies will he unquestionable.
The property now offered for stile, is
recommended to the enterprising, by ma
ny peculiar and eminent advantages, it
.s situated at tho head of r'team Boat
mvigatron, on the Savannah river, on
the South-Carolina side, directly opposite
the most commercial part of Augusta:
and is the natural, ns well as accustomed
market, for the produce of a large por
tion ol tlie Back-Country of South -Caro
lina; 30,000 Bags of Cotton per annum,
and other produce i.i proportion, being
the average of purchases for years past.
It is the contemplated termination of the
Charleston Bail Hood; and a confident
anticipation is entertained, that a Branch
or Agency of one of the Charleston
Bunks, will shortly be established there.
The place is abundantly supplied with
excellent water from numerous never
failing Springs, beyond any Southern
Town; and from past experience, may be
regarded as unusually healthy. In ad
dition to these advantages, it is recom
mended by another, which is not enjoy
ed by any place in the United States or
elsewhere—a total exemption from Tax
es, for Eight years, by the following joint
resolution ofthe Legislature of Sauth-
Carolinn: “Resolved, that all Town Lots
and Stock in Trade, within the corporate
limits of Hamburg, be exempt from Tax,
on the part of the State, for the term of
Eight years.”
We may therefore, with the utmost
eonlidcr.ee, pronounce that no place in
the Southern States, affords a finer field
for enlerprize, or an opportunity for so
profitable an investment of Capital. The
attention ofthe entorprizing is therefore
particularly invited; of those who have
no capital, and wish to acquire it; and of
those who have, and wish to invest and
increase it.
