A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS, the Legifhture of this
State, at the last feffiun, palled a re*
solution requefKng that an axtia-fiffi n
thereof should be called, as Lon as conve
nient after official notification, of a further
acquisition cf territory from the Creek In.
diaus, firould be received.
And whereas, I have, this day, reociv
ed official information, that the convention,
concluded on the 14th of November fail,
between the United Statca and the Creek
Natiorr of Indians, for certain lands in the
Folk of the Oooneo and Ocmulgee riven,
has been duly ratified. 1 have thought
proper, under, and by virtue of the powers
in me veiled, by the eighth fiflion, of the
second article, of the Cnnftitution of this
State, to iflfae this my proclamation for
convening the General AfTemby, at the
Slate Houle, in Lcuifville, on Monday the
ninth day of Jutjc next—and I do, there
fore, hereby enjoin and require the alien
dance of the fcvcral members, cf the ref
pcdltvc branches thereof, at 'he place, and
on the day, above mentioned.
