States ; and even his enemies (if all enmity
is not now buried in the grave) mud ac
knowledge* that he was a'brave soldier, an
I incorruptible ftstefmaa and an hsneft man.
The memoirs 1 am preparing for publica
tion will be thus divided—
Period —Will detail the revolutiona
ry services of general jackfon, and, col- ,
laterally, the services of many patriotic
Georgians, from 1775, lo the evacuation of
Savannah, in 178a.
ad Period —Will defad his political and
. civil parfuits, from 1782 to 1806. This
division of the incmoirs’mM contain a hifto
ry of the Ya zoo Speculation in the I
ft ste of Georgia, from the commencement of
• the fraud to its ftihverfion, in V ; and.
will also embrace the proceedings of the houfc
of representatives and the fenatc of the Rate
of Georgia, and of the house of reptefenta
tives of Che congrcfs of the U. States, in
the year 1791, on the celebrated cantellcd
eleftionof general Anthony Wayne.
This work will be printed an an oftav*
page, and will probably contain 550 or
pages.
