f Our city was last week visited
by a child fix years old—called
the Infant Ro/cius % from his won

with at lo very early a period of
life, and bids fair to make a se
cond Ueity • such an amusement
deserves the highest encourage
ment, as it excites emulation in
the young, and convinces the old
that the human mind at the age

ofhis leaving town, -He exhibited
at Miss Hay’s boarding
to an admiring and beautiful af

paid him as well with their purses
as with their fmilcs and appro

From the Aumta.
The embargo, has built or
ntfraly built, one thousand new
houses in this city—the embargo
has eroded two manufactories for
(hot in this city, which forever
fccurcs the circulation at home,
of about 200,000 dollars hereto
fore sent abroad—sent abroad to
pay for (hot—for (hooting birds
alone we sent 200,000 dollars a
broad ; Philadc'phia row, from/
the two towers creeled for calling
patent (hot, can, after supplying
aU America, cast enough to (ap
ply all Asia bclidc. Let it not be
forgotten that Louisiana produces
the lead for thefc manufactories
—which can each cad one ton and
a half of the most pcrisdl ihot per
day each.
But thefc nor twenty more art?
not all—we have two manufacto
ries of red lead already eilablifhed
—whose capacity is compete!}!
to the supply of the whole country
with lead and with litharage.
A manufactory of white lead io
also going on.
The elegant pottery manufac
tory of Mcflrs. Trotter and Co.
is conducted in a style so perfect,
so complete in all that is required
from utility, or taste, that we re
quire only a few privations of
foreign articles, to give a com
plete cllablifhment so ouf own.
It would be in fact a fortunate
occurrence for America that both
France and England should open
ly avow hofiility against us—their
inlidious war, their war in dis
guise, is calculated only to fur
nilh tnajh for domeflic ,traitors
and foreign cmiflaries—in open
war the traitors would be unmas
ked at once.
