To day we have concluded the correspon
dence between the Spanish Minister and the
Secretary of staty. The complaints of the
Court of Spain appear from thkt document to
be strong and numerous, and they ate urged by
the minister of that power with gireat zeal and
pertinacity. The reply of Mr. Monroe is also
both eloquent and forcible; zealous m tue vin
dication of his government; he recriminates
on Spain numerous and Vmredressed ip juries on
the part of the United Slates. Perhaps never
did two nations undertake the discussion and
settlement of subjects of more na ioaal import
ance, and never perhaps were the ministers of
two nations farther apart on any subject than
Mr.j Monroe and Don Onis ate on ibt subjects
in dispute between their respecuvecountries—

of a similar fraud in this market. The following
certificate and affidavit were made before*
magistrate on this affair and we hope '.be law,
(for surely civilized society cannot exist with
out laws to punish fraud) wid be enforced
against the author of so base and dishonest a
practice. 7

said load was daim»d by a Mr Hunter, of
