any two of them. This district is com
posed of that part of the city between
Centre and M Intosh streets.

posed of all that part of the city west oi

The managers are ..requested to keep
the polls open from nine o'clock in the
forenoon until three o'clock in the after
noon, and transmit a list of the votes and
a statement of the poll to the intendant.
Should it be inconvenient for any of the
persons nominated for the management
to attend, they will please ft signify the
same, so that others may be appointed.

To Apprehetid the Thief!
A MAN who calls his name WIL
LIAM AVERETT, about five
feet eleven inches high, very spare made*,
thin visage, with a thin, high aquiline or
Roman nose ; dark hazel eyes; fair skin
and hair—his left leg has been broke a
little above the ancle, which has caused
a Ihmp that shows a little through the
Pantaloons, and the leg is shorter than
the other—he had on a pale grey home
spun coat and pantaloons; a yellow spot
ted marseilles waistcoat; a blue cloth
big coat, with a large cape, and mounted
on a small dark brown mare—he said
that he was from North Carolina, neat
Sals l mry. I had employed him th the
capacity of an Overseer, and he left my
house on Monday morning last, the 10th
inst. about two hours before day—stofed
and carried off With him a new Saddle
of the best quality, and a large French
Gold Watch, winds up on the face, a
small piece Scaled off at the key hole, a
ribbon chain with tassels connected to
the watch, with a steel ring, a small gold
seal and key, the ting on the upper part
of the key is worn out, and tied together
with a thread. The above reward will
be paid to any person for the thief, sad
dle and watch,' or Twenty Dollars for
either.

about'fifty years of age; he roakt»
a profession of religion, and is a preach
er, speaks slow and is plausible and
walks lame; he rode off a brown bay
horse very old, in good order; the horn'*
wethers are sore and his back veryitnuch
abused. Also, LAWRENCE; a black,
stout made fellow, with large whiskers,
about 40 years of age. Also, LEWIS,
a stout, well made fellow, about 4S
years of age, be speaks quick and staffl.

They took a variety of clothing with
them. Three of the above negroes em
barked for Savannah in a canoe. A lib

who will deliver the above described ne
groes to Mr. John R. Tuilosv at the
