v" HERE AS, an improper report has
been spread, from motives unknown to
us. by soim persons, agains l the ship
SISTERS, Ritcuie, of Port Glasgow’, and
a letter has been addressed to Capt
Byrne, of the brig Young Kallidav, from
Augusta, in which it is stated that the ves
be I is unworthy of cargo, and required
pumping out every half-hour during hu
passage to keep her free.—We, the unde
signed, passengers on board that ship from
Port Glasgow, feel it our duty to contra
1 let these erroneous reports, (more parti
cularly that of the Augusta letter, which
is very incorrect,) and to state, that we
have every confidence in the Sisters being
a safe ship; her leakage was regular, and
in no degree of consequence.—Her sailing
during a most severe passage, was such as
to induce one of our fellow passengeis,
Mr. John C. Ross, of Chareston, whose
business requires his speedy return, to
prefer the Sisters: and should any of us
have a similar occasion to visit Scotland,
we would follow his choice, and trust our
lives with every confidence on board that
vessel. We cannot give a stronger proof
of our opinion than tins, and trust that it
will be duly appreciated.
