malicious or incorrect, that I should cause
the causes, that have produced them,
appear in print. For although, it may he
.deemed presumptions, for any individual
however eminent, and respectable, he may
have been, to suppose, that his mistor

the world, as to call on him, lor their pub
lication. Yet iu tenderness, lor the more
honorable, and respectable portion, of
human nature, it is but reasonable, to

is right and what is wrong; or in what is
Virtuous, or, in what is vicious, as they

men, as, on these, most undeniably rests,
the lupniness, the harmony, the order,
safety and security o' human affairs. It

And, if the privilege, was ever claimed,
and indulged in, with justice, and pro
pricy, 1 trust,, that it will, be deemed so,
on the present occasion. To plead, as I
have done, for forty years, for some re
dress, for some compensation, for tin
overthrow, derangement, and final des
truction, of a concern that was once, the
most opulent, eminent, distinguished, and
respectable, that ever was in South Caro
Una. And to fail therin, ns 1 have done,
from fraud, treachery and collision, be
comes, a matter, for the candid, full, and
impartial investigation, of the just, the
impartial, the correct; and upright, of the
world And to those of that description;
and most particularly, to those of my sis
ter slat,- of Georgia it is, that I most res
pectfully pray leave to make my appeal.

happiness, to the misfortlinate man, to
