Jsapoleon Bonnparl. —A passenger, who
came in the British ship Harmony, which
arrived here on Wednesday, in 24 days
from Swansea, is said to have slated, that
“he brought the London Traveller, of
the 13th (.tune,) but it was mislaid and
could not be found on his arrival ;” and
that this paper, of whish an account of
the death of Bonaparte ; and also an ac
count of the American squadron having
fired upon a Turkish fleet in the Mediter
ranean.” i
As the port of Swansea, which lies in
tli® Bristol channel, is only 2u4mijes from
London, it is no way improbable that a
London paper of the 18th was receivedbv
the Harmony on the 15ih, the day on
which she putto sea. Hut what credit
is that man entitled to, who says that he
had a paper in his possession containing
such important inteligence, and yet was so
careless as not to know where he had put it,
while she found fio difficulty in producintr
a Courier of the 11th, in which there wa
not a single article of interest ? Th-.
story, in its present form, is utterly un
worthy of credit.
