UPON the petition of Richard Richard
soi., praying the foreclosure of the
Equity of Redemption of a certain tract
oi parcel of Md lying, being and situate
in the county of Burke and Slate ol Geor
gia, bounded as followsthat is to say,
Northwardly by land formerly owned ami
possessed by Jordan Taylor j East wardly
by James Tindal, Philip Thomas and John
Smith’s land ; Southwardly by James Mar
tin’s land, ami VVestwanlly by Joshua
Nunon’s land, containing one thousand
acres, more or less, having the creek rivu
let, or branch called the Rosemary, run
ning through a part of said tract or parcel
of land, which said tract or parcel of land
whs on the sixth day of May, in the year
of our Lord one thousand, eight hundred
and seventeen mortgaged by the said Je
remiah Miller to the said Richard Rich
ardson, to sccuie the payment of the sum
cf three thousand three hundred and ele
ven dollars and eighty three cents, with the
interest accruing thereon, lobe paid on the
first day of February next, after the date
,1 said mortgage, with interest from the
first day of January, in the year of our
Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and
seventeen, and agreeable to the condition
ol a bond bearing even date with said
mortgage —On motion of Felix J. Hums,
attorney for the said Richard Richardson,
ft is Ordered that the said Jeremiah Miller
do within twelve months pay into the

rust due on said mortgage, or in default
thereof, the equity of redemption in the

contains three hundred and twenty.four
acres, about two hundred ten of which is
cleared, and tinder good fences; the soil
is equal to any upland in the county, and
a pan of that which is to clear, is eq ial
to any in the state. The situation is high
and believed to he as healthy as any in
the neighbourhood. On the premises is
a good dwelling house, good kitchen, and
all necessary out buildings, including a
new Gin House ami Stables. Also, a large
Orchard of Peach, Apple and Cherry
trees, a good garden, two (lush springs
of pure water, quite convenient, This
Plantation having having been advertised
last spring; I deem it unnecessary to say
any thing more of its situation, qualities,
&c. as it is expected that these wishing
to purchase will view it themselves. —
Should this tract of land he too small,
there are five or six hundred acres of good
lands adjoining, which may be bought on
good terms immediately.
The above described tract of land will
be offered at private sale, until Thursday,
the sth day of December next, and if not
sold will then he put up to the highest
bidder, together with all the Plantation
tools, corn, fodder, household & kitchen

Justice to myself, and those whose agent

Carnes’ statement, using a milder term
than it deserves, to he iiaaoMiovs —The
foundations upon which P II Carnes pre
tends to predicate his claim, are these—
the first following of which he has more
than once affirmed in try presence—that
by a reuenl survey -I bis tract of land, he

reflecting upon the natural cause which
might have produced this diminution dn
quantity, (namely, the nearer approach of

and secondly, the rumor which lias for
some lime prevailed, that the present pro

connected with the two foregoing reasons,

Judgment was obtained in the Federal
Court in 1816, against Maj George Wal
ton, and possession of said Lot No 12, giv

eral warranty titles will be given to ltie
purchaser; and if contested by P U Carnes,
who has not the shadow of a title, he will
he (irmly opposed by those who know
how to estimate as well us defend their
