The trustees of this Female Seminary,
at the commencement of the year, de

pull - the Institution into notice ; yet they

seldom witnessed an Examination in which
Girls of the same age did themselves or
their Instructresses more credit and, alter
having observe d for six month* the course

gree of .proficiency attained, we can con
scientiously recommend this Academy as
worthy of the public patronage The
healthfiilness of this place and Die silvan*

confidently hoped will offer sufficient in
ducements to parents to place their daugh

to board with the Hector in his family, or
with same relative. With the exception
of Music, every branch of a solid and or

tended to adopt in the Academy a more
regular and systems ic course of educa

Dank, of the state ot Georgia, praying the

Lots laid out at the upper end of Broad
street, in Augusta, by Daniel Sturges,
Surveyor General, on the twenty-eighth
day ot February, one thousand eight hua
dred and eighteen, and lying on the north
side of Broad street, as numbers one, two,
eleven and twelve, eacli containing thirty
1 feet front on said Broad street, (number
one excepted,) which contains on Broad
s street, twenty-two and a half feet, and on
Jonfes Street, thirty feet, being the same
on that, (Jones sireetj as theoth*i three
t Lots; which said Lots were mortgaged by
James B Lafitte to Barna McKinne, on the
I- first day of July, one thousand eight hun
dred and eighteen, to secure the payment
of the sum of three thousand six hun
dred and seventy-two dollars and fifty
cents, with interest, at one, two and three
years, two thousand four hundred and
forty eight dollars and thirty-two cents,
with interest thereon, being now due and
unpaid to the said Planters Bank—
And now at this term, upon the motion
of Thomas Flournoy, in behalf of the Plain
tiff : It is ordered, that the principal in

the date hereof, or from thenceforth the
equity of redemption will be forever bar

premises will be disposed of as the law

RULE NISI.
IT appearing to the Court, upon the pe
tition of James Bilbo, that he is pos
sessed of a deed of mortgage for all tha'
t ract of land consisting of several tracts,
comprising in all, by survey, eleven hun
dred acres, mure or less, commonly known
by the name of Hudson’s Mills, or Hud
son’s Ferry, bounded by lands of the fol
lowing persons, to wit :*-To the east by
lands of Richard Scruggs or James Green
how, deceased; to the west by lands of
James Greenhow, deceased, and Richard
Scruggs; to the north by Savannah River;
to the south by lands of Francis Lunday,
Benjamin Daly and William Thorn ; all
situate and being in the county of Scriv
en and State of Georgia, which deed was
signed, sealed and delivered to the said
James Bilbo by James Hudson, on the se
cond day of August eighteen hundred
and eleven; and which deed contains a
condition to be void, if the said James Hud
son, his heirs, executors, administrators,
or assigns, should faithfully pay to the
said James Bilbo, his executors, adminis
trators, or assigns, the sum of one thou
sand dollars, according to the true intent
and meaning of a certain Bond of the said'
James Hudson, bearing even date with
the said mortgage, duly made and execut
ed by the said James Hudson, to the said
James Bilbo, for the penal sum of two thou
sand dollars, conditioned for the payment
of ihe said sum of one thousand dollars;
and the said James Bilbo praying to have
the Equity of Redemption of the mortgag
ed premises foreclosed, in terms of the
Act of the General Assembly in such caseg
made and provided—lt is ordered, that
the prayer of the petitioner be granted,
unless the whole amount us principal, in
terest and cost due on the said Bond and
Mortgage he paid into court within twelve
months, or good cause shewn to the con
trary;—lt is further ordered, that this
rule be published once a month for twelve
months in one of the public gazettes of
this State.

thereto relating, in conformity to the stat
ute of this State, and the rules of Court
in such cases made and provided, and
praying the usual rule. It is therefore or,
dered, that nil persona concerned, do
shew cause on or before the first day of
next term of this Court, why the prayer
of the petitioner should nut be granted
and it is further ordered, tuat this rule be
published in one or more of the public
Gazettes of this State, once a month till
the time of shewing cause thereon.

costs due on said mortgage be paid into
Court within twelve months from the date
hereof, or the equity of redemption in
the said mortgaged premises, will be for
ever foreclosed, and the said lots will be

Five barrels,containing small
quantities "f Rum, Gi -, tV mskey, Vinegar
nd Cider, and two empty barrels—one
quarter box of cigars, one half keg con
taining about 20 lbs tobacco, one large
t ;b containing fifty-eight bot'.les; one gun
smith's vice, one fowling piece, one set
scales and weights, one half gallon and
one quart mug, seven tumblers, one hatch
et, one coarse matrass, a few'plates, knives
and forks, seven cocks for small casks, and
fourteen bum ties of candK- wick, seized
by virtue of a writ of attachment rt the
instance of James B D -y'e vs. Daniel M
Jackson, and sold as public property by
an order of Court.

CAMBRIDGE, and that he belongs to tlr
widow Harris, near Augusta -—lie it ot a
tolerable dark complexion, and appears to
be tolerably old. The owner is requested
to come forward, prove property, pay
charges, and taae him away.
