Gainesville is';one of the most flourish
ing'and growing villages in Georgia. It
is situated immediately on the upper Fed
eral Hoad, nine miles from the ('herokco
line, ami about eighteen miles from the
Cherokee Gold Mines. It is the most di
rect route for persons wishing to explore
the Cherokee Country, who live in tho
Eastern and Middle counties of Georgia
or Carolina. Persons wishing to slop in
Gainesville, can be accommodated m ilh
private conveyances to any pari of the
Gobi region they may wish to visit. The
tine of stages running from Augusta to
Athens has, alto, been extended to
Gainesville; and, from thence to Mur
ruysville, twelve miles west of Gaines
ville, which gives ns great facilities in
travelling to the Gold region as to' ey
other part of the fSlulo. VVe believe,
from the local advantages w Inch Guines
\ iHe possesses, that there is no village iu
the State, that is better calculated to
render those comfortable and pi. meant
who may wish to spend the summer
months in the up country. VVe are dai

nights extremely pleasant: and the beet
