Cholera in our city.” The Captain of a

says (ho individual had been down to
Colly Island, where (he disease was
sprcsidiirj among the unfortunato pas

Patriot of Saturday nnernoon says—“ A

Cholera on the Island, hut he would not
say positively whether they were Asiat

Our Hoard of Health h ive promptly
fullitled their pledge to give notice of the
very lirst case ofCliolern in our City.—
This is us it should he. 'They have per
formed a sacred duly to persons out of
the City—to whose full confidence they
have established their claim ; and in so
doing, they have consulted the best inter

ami business.—The truth and the whole
truth is hotter policy—than the conceal
meat which we are assured has been
practiced in some 011101' Cities. It will

munity, at 1 lie sudden check which has
been given to the commercial activity
which had just begun to enliven our
streets ami wharves—hut wc hope that
this injury will not be great, and that the
check will he but temporary.
A single case of Cholera—the attack
of which was most madly courted by the
unfortunate subject, has occurred in the
midst of the unsurpassed health, with
with which our city is otherwise blessed
—and at the very time when the Civil
Authorities hid set apart a day of
thanksgiving. We trust, therefore, (hat
the disease will not spread: for it is well
j known that in all places where the Cho

i horn an unusual degree of sickness from
other diseases. Our city is clcr.n, and
