Senate, Monday Dec. 3.—Nothing of gene
ral inlciest was done in the morning; and an ad
inurnment was made to 3 o’clock P. M. when
the Committee oflmpeaclimerit appeared from j i
the House, and road the Articles of Impeach-']
inent against Shailrar.lt Bogan, adopted there- j I
by. Mr. Sellers then submitted Resolutions, 1 l
which were adopted, that the Secretary furnish j
said Bogan with n copy of said Articles, and that j :
the Senate suspend all ordinary business, and |;
proceed to organize itself into a High Couit of j i
Impeachment, for the trial ofsaid Bogan; and I 1
the Senate organized itself accordingly, by til
ting the oath prescribed. Seats were then pro- i
vidod forthe Committee of Impeachment, and j i
they attended and took them, and the accused t
was arraigned before the Court. The Counsel I
for the Impeached, moved to be allowed til! 3 v
o’clock lb-morrow, to plead to the Articles,
which was agreed to; and also to bo furnished 1

mount of compensation to tho Electors of Presi

and adopted.

pointed a Special Messenger to servo subpienasi

A Message was received from the Governor,
ransaiitling a communication of Guv. Hamilt on

House, Dec, G.—The Resolutions of Mr.
Stark, requesting the call of a Convention of all
the Slates, and protesting against the exorcise of
force against S. Carolina, made the order fur
iu day, were postponed and made the order ot
tho day for Wednesday next.

—were severally read the third time and rejec
ted.

COTTON DESTROYED.
On Sunday night last, the Cotton on board of
ih, led,ter of the Steam Boat Augusta, on her
way m (’hailesion, took Ike, while the boat
washing at Steel Cheek, about GO miles below
this place. About Gel) hales of cotton were on
board oftlm lighter, about 4.70 bales of which
were burnt. We understand nearly Inn whole
