A Letter received at Baltimore, from 'a young
gentleman of that city, now at Valparaiso, says: '

COTTON.—There has been a fair demand for
cotton, since Tuesday, at former prices, say from
15} to 19} cents, and yesterday there was an ani
mated demand at former prices, and 20 cents was
offered and refused for a lot of 22 bales. The
principal sales were made at from 16 to 19 cents.
The quantity coming in is moderate.

SEALED proposals will be received at the
Oflire of the Clerk of the Inferior Court for
the county of Baldwin, in the town ofMillcdge
vil!o, Georgia, until 12 o’clock M. on tho first day
of May next, f>r building a Court-House, in said
Town, on the site where the present Court-House
now stands. The building is to be two story
high, each slopy at least 15 feet—to be built of
brick in lime mortar, plastered neatly inside ; to
rest on a granite foundation at b ast 4 feet high,
the face of tbe *tonc hewn—The centre room be
low to be 40 feet square—rooms on the East and
VV'csl 18 by 30 feel—The second story, a room
of tbe same size as the centre for a Court Hall,
surmounted by n dome in proportion—Fit’e rooms
above and live chimneys to lire bouse. The front
to he a supported by four handsome pillars ex
tending to the square, two feet deep—granite
steps. Tbcbuibbng to be completed within 20
month*, and on failure to comply, the conlracter
to forfeit the work done. The brick of the present ■
Court-House to be taken by the undertaker at a
fair price, for which be is to give a erfcdit for the a
mount.
The Justices of the Inferior Court reserve to
hcrmelves tbo right to arrange the Court Room
and other internal regulation;;.
Payments to be made annually for three years
from the dale of the undertaking.
The contractor to give bond and sufficient se
curity to the Justices of t|»c Inferior Court for said
county for faithful performance.
