Dr. Hall’s Cough Lozenges.
Important to Clergymen, .Lawyers, and Public
Speakers generally.
W E are kindly permitted to publish the following
extract from a letter from J. W. Smith, lo a
brother in the ministry:
Durham, Conn., Nov. 21st, 1846.
Dear Brother:—Yours of the 5th inst; was i.
ccived some days ago, and would have been answer
ed ere now, had had not a pressure of business pre
vented me.
I am pained to hear of your continued indisposi
tion and inability to pursue vour ministerial labors.
You ask it 1 have ever been'thus or similarly afflic
ted ? I answer yes! In the autumn of 1842,1 con
tracted a severe cold while riding my circuit, which
resulted in affection of the lungs, accompanied by*a
violent cough, which was so innch irritated in speak
ing, that for nearly two months I was unable to
preach a single sermon, and I began to have fears
that [ should never be able to again resume my la
bors. Aboul the first Of November I was at brother
Caldwell’s in Hartford, and he gave me a box of
Hull’s Cough Lozenges, recommending them
medicine well adapted to tfie cure of my case. As
an experiment I begafi using them, and soon found
myself improving—and after four weeks continued
use of them, I was able t? ^ j upon my circuit. Since
then 1 have invariably made nse of the Lozenges in
all cases of cold or hoarseness, and always with
complete success. I don’t know that they would
cure you, but as mine was a similar case I think
them worthy of a trral, and hoping they may prove
useful in restoring you to health and usefulness, “
remain yours in Christian fellowship,
J. W. SMITH.

sale by WELCH &.NELSON, Albany,
