Be it enacted by the Mayor and Council of the City
of Albany. That on and alter the first day of Novem
ber next, it shall he the duty of the Marshall and his
Deputies in said city, to take up all hogs found run
ning at large in said city, nnd provide a pound or
enclosure for safe keeping such hogs together with
sufficient and proper food—and immediately adver
tise such hogs so taken up to the best of his ability,
by posting them at Post Office and Court House, for
the space of five days—when, if not claimed by the
owners, such hogs shall be sold by said Marshal,
and after paying expenses, the balance to be depos
ited with the city Treasurer, subject to the order ol
sale, j the owners, upon proof of property.

Chronic Diseases, and being convinced that tin Insti
tution founded upon a proper basis aud conducted
in such a manner as to prove conducive to the inter
est of pstruns, wouhl be of public utility, have joint
ly opened an Infirmary, and *are now ready to re
ceive patients from nny portion of the country.
One of the best and most commodious houses has
been secured for Ihe purpose—situated on comer
ol Price and Charlton sweets, near the Savannah,
Albany &. Gulf R. R. Depot
Nurses of the best character have been employed,
who will be under our immediate supervision, so tbnt
planters may be assured that their servants will its
ceive every necessary attention.
Being connected with the Savannah Medical Col
legei, we naturally feel great interest in the young
men of the class, and wit), during the winter, operate
upon Indigent Whites from a distance before the
class, free, of charge—they being required only to
pay board..
Terms:—Board ten dollars per month. Medical
attentlbn and Hurgical operations will be charged at

in Dougherty county, about seven

Flint River, and on Ihe road leading to
Troupville. The above place contains one Uiousand
acres of land, two bundri d and fifty of which are
under fence, and have been in cultivation three or
four years, and there are about two hundred or two
hundred nnd fifty more acres, tliat have been dead
ened for about two yeftrs, this will allow tour hun
dred and fifty to five hundred acres to lie brought
under cultivation tlie next year, without the necessi
