TO THE CITIZENS OF GBOftGIA.
The terminatidh of ^ sanguLnary . contest, >hich
for the past four year® has presented an impassable
barrier to all' social'or commercial intercourse be-
t jvecn the O'® gt*cat sections of our country, having
at length .happily cleared itsray all obstacles.to a
renewal of these relations which formerly bound us
together in a fraternal union, I take the earliest
opportunity affox-ded by thi^auspieiows event, to
greet my Southern friends, tind to aolielt from them
- -a renewal of that extensive business which for a
quarter of a century has been nninterrupted save by
tlie *grcat public calamity, to •wliLcW I have adverted.
It is scarcely necessary, on the threshold of a
business re-union I should, repeat the waruing so
'often given to my friends^-tn beware of all these
spurious and dcleterionlVcompounds which, under
the 8pecious and false titles bf Imported Wines-
Brandies, Holland Gin, Liquors, Ac., have, been
equally destructive to the health or our citizens as
prejudicial to the interests'of the legitimate lm
porter.
Many years of. my past life have been expended
in an -open and candid attempt to expose these
wholesale frauds; no time nor expense has been
■pared to accomplish this salutary purpose, and to'
place before my friends and the publio generally,
at the lowest market price, and in such quantities
as might suit their convenience, a truly genuine
imported article.
Twenty-five years’ busing transactions with the
largest and most respectable exporting houses in
France and Great Britain have .afforded me unsur
passed facilities for supplying lorbome market with
Wines, Liquors, and Liqmures of the best and most
•PPro-Ved brands in Europe, in addition to my own
distillery in Holland for the manufacture of the
Schiedam Sehnaps.” ‘
The latter, so long farted -and approved by the
medical Faculties of thb-'United States, West Indies
and South America as an Invaluable Therapeutic,
wholesome, pleasant, and perfectly ggfe beverage,
in all climates and during all seasons, quickly exi i-'
ted tue cupidity of the home manufacturers and ven
ders of a spurious article under the same name.
1 trust that l have, after much toil ’nnd expense,
surrounded all my importations with safeguards and
directions which with ordihary circumspection will
insure their delivery, as’l receive them from Europe,
to all my customers. . ^
I would, however, f.espnjmep.d in all cases where
ft is possible, that orders bo sent direct to my depot*
£1 Beaver Street, New.’-York, or that purchases be
made of my accredited agents.
In addition.to a largo stock of Wines, Brandies
Ac., in wood, l have a considerable supply of .old
tried, forpjgn Wines, embracing vintages of many
year? past* bottled up boforp tlie commencement of

the war, which I cap especially recommend to all
connoisseurs of these rare luxuries. •*
Iu.conclusicn, I would specially call the early at
tention of my Southern customers to the advantage
tq b 5 derived by transmitting their orders without
loss of time, of calling-personally at the depot, in
or4e)r.to insure the fulfilment of their orders out of
the present large and well 'selectcd assortment.
