TO THE CITIZENS OP GEORGIA.
Tlio termination of a sanguinary contest, which
forth© past four years has presented an impassable
barrier to all social or commercial intercourse be
tween the two great sections of our country, having
S length happily -cleared away all obstacles foa
newal of these relations which formerly bound us
together in & fraternal union, I take the earliest
opportunity .afforded by Ibis auspicious event, to
greet my Southern friepds, and to solicit from them
a renewal of that extensive* business. which for a
quarter of a century has been uninterrupted save by
the great public calamity to wlricii.I have adverted.
If is scarcely necessary, on the threshold of a
business re-union I should repeat the warning so
often given to my friends—to beware of all these
spurious and deleterious compounds which*, under
tb.9 specious and. false titles of Imported Wines^
Brandies, Holland Gin,_Liquore, &c. t have been
equally destructive tq tho health of our citizens as
prejudicial to the interests of the legitimate Im
porter^ *
\Mnny years of my past lifo have been expended
in an open and candid attempt to eiposo these
wholesale frauds; no time nor expense bos' been
spared to occompliah thld sadutary purpose, and to
place before my friends and the public generally f
at the lowest market price, and in auch quantities
as might suit (heir convenience, a truly genuine
imported article. .
- Twenty : five years’ business transactions with the
largest and most respectahle' v exporting houses in
France and Great Britain have afforded me unsur
passed facilities for supplying our home market with
Vlhresf Liqnurs, iraff Ltqmures of the Vest and most
approved tffands in Europe, in addition'to my own
distillery in Holland for the manufacture of the
Schiedam Schnaps;” ,
The latter, so long tested and approved by the
medical Faculties of the United States; West ludies
and South America as an invaluable Therapeutic, a
wholesome, pleasant, and perfectly safe beverage
in all climates and during all seasons, quickly exci
ted the cupidity of the home manufacturers and^en-
dertof a spurious article under the earno name.
I trust that 1 have, after much toil: and expense 1 ,
surrounded all my importations with safegtt
directions which with ordinary circumspection will
insure their delivery, jts 1 receive then* from Europe,
to all jny customers. . * * > < * {_
1 would,* however, ecommend in all cases where
it is possible, that orders be sent direct tq my depot)
22 Beaver Street, New York, or that purchases be
made of my accredited agents. *
lu addition to a large stock of Wines, Brandies
&c., in wood, l have a considerable supply Of old
tried .foreign Wines, embfyeing ymtages, of. many
years pilst, bottled up before the commencement of
the war, which I can eapecialiyHecotnmend To all
connoisseurs of these rare luxuries.
la conclusion, 1 would specially^eqll the early at
tention of my Southern customers tq tye advantage
to be derived by transmitting their orders without
loss of time, or calling personally at,the depot K in
order to insura'the fulfilment of their orders out of
tho present large and well selected assortment.

The NATfoXAL jNTKLitaEKCEU is devot ed to News,

tablishcd, and i» so widely, known, as hardly
