bppbrlu^ily afford?^ by this auspicious event, to
greet niy Southern friends, and to solicit fropi them
a renewal of-that extensive business which^for a
f. uarter of a century has been uninterrupt ed save by
too great public cafajnity to which I have adverted.
It Is scarcely necessary, on the ‘ threshold of a
business re-union I should repent-the warning so
often, given to my friends-—^' Jrcware of all these
spurious and deleterious compounds which, under
the speeious and false titles of Imported TV ines f
Brandies, Holland Gin, Li(juors,i &c., have been
equally destructive to the health of oar eitUens ns

Many years of my past life have been expended
in* ftp open and candid attempt to e^poso these
wholesale frauds; no time nor expense has been
spared 4© accomplish tiiis saluta'ry purposo, and to
place before my friendj and the public generally,
at the lowest, market price, and in such quantities
as might sqit their convenience, a truly genuine

largest and most respectable exporting houses in
France and Great Britain have affordodtne unsur-

approved brands in .Europe,*in addition, tq my own

I trust that I have, after much toil and expense,
surrounded all ray importations with safeguards and

I would, however, ecommend in all cases Where
it is possible, that orders be sent direct to my depots ^

years past, bott^e^ up before the commencement of
the war, which I can especially recommend to all
connoisseurs of these rare luxuries.
In conclusion,*! would specially call the early at
tention of my Southern customers to tbe advantage
to be derived by transmitting tjieir orders without
loss of‘time, or' catling personally at the depot, in
order to insure the fulfilment of their orders out of
