Milledgeville, Ga.j 13th Oct., 1866. f
In conformity with an act of the .General
Assembly, approved 12tli March; 1800,
numbered 10. It is ordered,
1st, That all bonds and-coupons of the
State of Georgia now due, and which were
not issued m aid of the late war, whereso
ever made payable, may be funded on pre-
sentation at the Treasury of the State
in Mortgage Bonds of the State, bearing
seven per cent, interest from the let day of
J uly, I860, that being the day of their date.
2ndly. That all coupons payable in New
York, or in London, how due, and embraced
in descriptive list furnished the agency by
the Treasurer, may be funded, in bonds des
cribed above, bn presentation at the Nation
al Bank of the Republic, Now York:
3rdly. That all coupons funded in New
York be marked PAID and returned to the
Treasury with a descriptive list of bonds u
sued in funding them., -
4thly. That the Treasurers endorse, or
cause to be endorsed on each bond funded,
the name of the person presenting it. and
that a registry of all bonds issued in the
funding process be kept-in the Treasurer’s
office.
Stilly. No interest is allowed on bonds or
coupons alter maturity. ■

Holders of overdue Bonds and coupons of
the State of Georgia are hereby notified, tliat
in nccordanco with the above order, they can
receive for* them, on presentation at this de
partment, new bonds of the State, dated 1st
July, 18G0, due twenty years lrom date,
bearing interest at 7 per cent per annum,
payable semi-annually, in January and July
and secured by mortgage on the Western
and Atlantic Railroad. ,i
The Bonds being in sires of WOO and
81000, holders must present their Bouds and
coupons in multiplies ot these sums or make
lip their deficiency in currency.
No provision for payment of interest after
maturity of Bonds or coupons having boen
made by the Legislature it cannot of course
lie allowed at this department.
Persons sending Bonds in under the above
order are requested to write their names leg
ibiy on the.margin to guard againstinistakes
in their entry ou the records, as ordered
