from Ukiug down the ineorreot statement in

Iutelligeneer of ytetorday morning tries the

decent fulfillment of the amenities of polite life.
Such saints as the “Ban” and the “News” would
have gone into spasms to have seen Breckin

at the Galt Honse in the presence of hundreds.
It is an admitted fact that tho Georgia Del
egation took a high stand and had large in-

“Varney G ask ill" has the credit of making the
most telling speech that was made. But there
are,and alwaya have been, some men who never
see anything done well unless their fingers
have been employed.
In the opinion of Lamar and Styles no good
or decent thing can come from Bullock. If
he were on the road to Heaven, they would,
at once, start for hell. Well, every man to

not been for the Georgia Delegation, the 32d

A few Sabbaths since, says the Covington
Examiner, an old gentleman residing in this
coantv, came to the conclusion that he would
attend preaching at a Church in the neighbor
hood. Harnessing op his horse to a baggy
that had been left standing under tbe shelter,
unused for a week or so, he proceeded to the
Church. While unhitching the horse, the old
gentleman was somewhat astonished by the
exit of an old hen from under the seat who
flew off in her accustomed glee of cackling, os
though she had just emerged from her nest
under the barn. The occurrence created no
little merriment among the by standers con
gregated before the Choreb. The old hen
however, seemed to be perfectly at home, and
after picking ronnd to ker own satisfaction,
again returned to her nest of eggs, under the
seat of the buggy. The old gentleman, who
by the way, is a widower, and rather sprnoing

the merriment “old speckle” hod created at
