[For (lie Savannah Rational Republican.]
1 'Think of The«.
I think of thee when rosy morn
Doth crown our mother earth,
While fair young fingers do adorn
Each opening day at birth.
1 think of thee, at gtowingnoon,
’Mud cares as crowding fast,
And when again the fair young moon
Doth speak ot the day ae past.
I think of thee at twilight hour,
When all is huBhed and still;
’Tis then that cornea with magic power,
Sweet thoughts that even thrill.
My very soul as thoughts oi thee,
Seem hke"some fairy spell,
Tins dioarny hour doth breathe for me
riright thoughts, I would not tell.
I think of thee'tvhen stars are set
Like, diamonds in the sky—
Like that sweet hour when last we me ,
And wish that thou wert nigb.
1 think of thee when sable night,
Her mantle hue bath thrown,
And shut all else from out my sight,
Except sweet thoughts alone.
And e’en in dreams, a vision bright
Doth flit across my way—
Which, like a ray of soft sunlight,
Doth turn the night to day.
I would that dream might ever last
So beautiful and bright,
But fear the mom will prove it past,
bike day into Ktr night.
And oh ! a night to me ’twill be,
When thou art far away,
Yet still«that thou will think of me,
Dear friend, I’ll ever pray.

New York Gold market.
Nxw York, Nov. 21.
Gold continues extremely dull. The sales by
the Sub-Treasury temporarily steady the mar
ket, and there is no inducement held out to spec
ulators to operate. Loans hare been made to-
riav chiefly at 3 per cent interest in favor of the
borrower. The sales of the Sub Treasury have
recently averaged between $500,000 and $600,000
per day, and these have been made with special
reference to providing for the redemption of the
live per cent, legal tenders due on the 1st prox.
The gold sola by the government is not actually
mitd oat of the Sub Treasury, certificates being
issued instead, and hence the rapid nominal in
crease of coin deposits in the Sub Treasury. It
is estimated that of upwards of three millions of
certificates issued not more than one million rep-
reseated deposits of coin iy the public. Thus,
while the total receipts at the Sub Treasury yes
terday were $3,609,560, the receipts on account
of customs duties and temporary loan were only
$1,361,000. The opening price in the gold room
was 140% followed by a decline of 1-8 and an
advance to 146 7-8, at which the market closed.
Foreign exchange was firm, with a strengthen
ing • tendency. Bankers’ sixty day bills were
quoted at 103 7-8al09; short 'sight, 109 7-8all0^{).
There were not many Southern bankers’ or com
mercial bills offering.
