Wait, wait ye winds, till I repeat
A signal to the parting fleets
Whose station is at home;
Then waft the aeaboy’s simple prayer,
And let it oft, be whispered there,
When in far climes I roam.
Farewell to father! reverend hulk,
Who, spite of metal, spite of bulk,
Most soon his cables slip;
Then, whilst the parting tearis mois^
The flag of “Gratitude . Til hoist,
In honor to the ship.*
Farewell to mother! first class, she
Who launched me on life’s stormy sea,
And rigged me fore and aft;
May Providence her timbers spare
And keep her hull in good repair
To tow the smaller craft
Farewell to cuter! lovely yacht*,
But whether she’ll be manned or not
I cannot now foresee;
May some goo^shtp a tender prove,
WeH found in stores ef truth and wrig
Soon take her under lee. *

Liverpool Cotton market.
We are indebted to Mr. David R. Dillon for a
copy of the Liverpool' Cotton Brokers’ Associo.
tion Circular of the 24th November, from Which
wc make the following extracts of the Cotton
market: ' * *.
Livehi'ool, Nov. 24.
The Cotton market opened with steadiness in
the beginning of the week, bnt the advices from
New York, per Africa, of a continuance oi heavy
receipts and larger exports produced general
dull ness, and prices gradually declined. Yester
day the demand revived, and a fair amount of
business has been done to-day, with less pres
sure to sell and more firmness, particularly since
the reduction of the Bank rate to 6 per ceet.
In Sea Island a fair business has been trans
acted, at last week’s current prices.
American continues in demand, bat on Monday
and Tuesday was very irregular and declined
lolly *^d per lb. To-day the market is less free
ly supplied, but quotations aTe still r^d per lb
below last week in some instances. -
The transactions in Brazil hare been only mo
derate; at the beginning ot this week Pernsm was
scarce, and 2nd was occasionally paid for fair;
subsequently prices receded, and close without
change from laet Thursday.
In Eg rpttan a lair amount of business has been
done, and some decline last week’s rates are again
established. f _
Smyrna barely supports former quotations.
There bas been a fair enquiry for East India,
bnt prices bare been irregular, aod cloae rather
