‘ ( suggestion lor Iho Interior Court.
Complaints reach us from many sources of tho
insecure condition ol tho Peach-Two Bridge, on
dli Roswell road. It is said to be entirely un
safe for the passage of heavily freighted wagons,
in its present dilapidated state. In some In
stances, wagons bearing hence heavy frieght
have teen compelled to go a distance of eight
miles to avoid passing over that bridge. This
is nil wrong, and tho Inferior Court should at
once apply the remedy. A small expense only
will lie necessary to place It In a proper state ot
repair, and it should be attended to at once. That
road is one of the main arteries supplying our
city witl, country produce, tmd it Is duo our, rural
neighbors to aflord them every transportation
facility in our power. Let the bridge ho mended.
A Frocdmnit Pickpocket, -;
The only incident of Sunday or Monday wor
thy of mention, to which onr attention has been
directed, was the ndiolt manner In which n
shrewd freedman relieved a gentleman at the
eat shed ol about $00 in greenbacks. It Is by
no means on odd circumstance for that class of
our population to covet and lay violont hands
upon their neighbors’ household goods, but they
are rarely found in the guise ot ptofessionnl and
scientific pickpockets, as this fellow seems to be.
It was ail operation worthy of one of the more
educated gentry of New York. He was not ap
prehended, nor did the stranger recover his
money.
