A trifling personal mattor occupying the at
tention yesterday and last night of the 11 we "
tvitose labors pertain to this department of Tiie
Intelligencer, its readers are begged to excuse
all short-comings.
“Disease Called Lovo,”
Pr. Baghy, tho author of tho comic letters ol
" Mozlz Aduins to Billy Ivins,” is now lecturing
in Virginia on tlte “ Disease called Love.” There
is not a great deal of that disease prevailing in
this community, but perhaps enough to get up n
respectable audience, i( the doctor should visit
us. The curiosity of the young Indies on such
a novel subject would induce mauy to attend.
An Important Decision,
' A case was up in the Circuit Coyrt of Greece
county, Alabama, last week, the decision in
which is of general interest. F. L. Chiles was
indicted under nn “Act to prevent persons from
interfering so as to induce laborors or servants
to nbnndou their contracts, or to employ such
without the consent of their original employer,
belorc tho expiration ol their contract.” The
charge against him was that lie hud “ enticed
away and hired laborers who were under a pre
vious contract.” He was found guilty, aud a
line of $r>0 assessed against him.
Down With the Dust.
There was a lively breeze moving throughout
yesterday, aud blinding and successive showers
ol dust n prominent feature oi the city.—
We are not advised as to what steps have been
taken to have the streets regularly sprinkled, but
presume ample arrangements are making for
that purpose.
En Route.
Friend Fitch, of the Griffin Star, was iu
Atlanta yesterday, en route for tho Northwest,
't he Star is a live paper, and we cotmncml its
Editor to the fraternity at Nashville, Louisville,
Cincinnati, and other points in that direction,
trusling they will keep a good look after him,
and see that, in duo season, he is properly pack
ed and labelled for the return trip.
DlNGolutlon ol F. Corra k Co.
The attention of our readers is directed lo a
nolice in this paper of the dissolution of the
above iuunedjfirm, embracing tho notice, also,
that all accounts in favor of or against it, will
be settled by Mr. L. De Give, ouo ol its late
partners.
Mr. Corba, on his own behalf, also publishes
a notice in which he requests ull persons having
any accounts against himself, individually, to
present them nt once, for immediate payment, to
Gen. L. J. Qartrell. We regret, in this con
nection, to state that the health of our old Iriend,
Mr. Corra, makes it necessary lor him to seek
relief “ iu healing waters,” and that he 1ms de
termined to do so at the “ Warm Springs,” in
Arkansas, where he will pass I he summer months,
with tiie hope, in doing so, that he will he able,
early in tho Fall, to resume business ugaiu on
Ids own account in this city. In this, we trust,
tide enterprising gentleman will not be disap
pointed, aud that, with renewed health and vigor,
lie will be found early in the fall maintaining
his reputation as one of the most enterprising
business men and merchants of this city, around
whom his old friends and customers will most
surely rally.
Encourase Home Industry.
The local of the Mitcon Telegraph is delighted
with a new faro table, manufactured by an ex-
o llent mechanic of that city, Mr. J. P. Shiver,
and expresses the opinion that Southern com
munities should encourage home industry and
skill. Wo agree with our Macon friend.
For Hie West.
Another lot of colored recruits, it Is said lor
the Indian service, left on Tuesday evening.
The Marietta Datofcatb School*.’
T\w following programme of tho Marietta Sab
bath Schools, which met tho Atlanta Schools on
the reoont Excursion to Kennesaw, was sent us

tion would have been made before.

Mrs. O. M. DEVOE, manager of tho Uniou Home
School for Soldiers’ Children, says she “has given it to
the weak and invalid children under her charge, with the
most happy nnd gratifying rosults.” Wo have received
over a hundred reams ol such certificates but no adver
tisement is so effective as what people themselves say ol
a good article. Our fortune and our reputation arc ut
stake. The original quality and high character of these
goods will he sustained under vvery and nil circumstan
ces. They have already obtained a sale in every town,
village, parish and humlutauiongcmiizcd nations. Base
imitators try to come mb near our name and stylo as they
can, and because a good article cannot 1>6 sold as low as
a pour one. they find some support from parties who do
not care what they sell. 11c on your guard. Sue our pri

ft Is a most delightful ilalr Dressing,
It eradicates scurf and dandruff.
It keeps the head cool and clean.

It prevents hair turning gruvnnd falling off.
It restores Imlr upon prematurely bald heads.
This is just wlmt Lyon’s Katharlon will do. It is pret
