vided a most sumptuous dlnnor for the occasion.
At three o'clock the Savannah guests, the Mayor
and Aldermen, and other officers of the city, offi
cers ol the army, members of the press, and a
goodly number Of leading citizens, in all amount
ing to about fifty, took their seats at the table.
The dinner, which wns an excellent one, was
duly discussed, alter which an hour or more was
spent in social friendly intercourse, sentiments
and brio! addresses. Tho best of spirit marked
