In thla connection, we desire to refbr to tho
adTerti*ament of McDaniel, Strong A Co., in
another column, and to any that they are folly
alive to hwlDCBi In their different lines. Our
planter fries da are raniadad that the gentlemen
composing that firm have had long experience
in the buying and Belling of cotton, and are fa
vorably knows throughout the country as prompt
and reliable burinena men. They now offer to
plantem the advantage of their commodious
warehouse in this city for the atorage of cotton,
and their personal attention for its sale. They
are alio prepared to make liberal cash advances,
and to offer all other facilities usually afforded
by re*poa*ibU factors.
Atlanta basin past yeara received considerable
quantities of the staple, mostly In wagons, how
ever, the fanner* receiving satisfactory prices
therefor. Bat this ta far from what ahe baa a
right to expect in the line of cotton, when the
acctaribUUy of this market la considered. The
fact is now, and has teen patent to all dealere in
cotton, that the article eanbe sold here at all
time* by an experienced factor at as high, or
even higher, price* than can be obtained in many
other market* Let the planter who doubts this
makatba trial, and we, aaiwBl bimaelf, be con
tent with the result We have good warehouses,
lice merchants who are alteoyi ready, and there
is no reason why Atlanta should not immediate
ly take high rank ae an interior cotton market.
We urge planters and others to test the truth of
out statements and suggestions, assured as we
sre that the accessibility of this point is such that
cotton may be ae easily shipped here aa shipped
off again, and aa a consequence the quickness of
sale promoted. Nor most it be forgotten that
here the planter may have all hi* wants supplied
on terms quite aa favorable as in any of the lar
ger markets of the country.
