V The said elecUon shall be held in each
county at the county seat, under the luperlnten
dunce ot thu Board* of Regtotmtion a* provided

VI All Judges and Clerlta employed in con
ducting said election, shall, before commencing
to hold the saute, be sworn to the ialthful per
formance ol their duties, and thall also take and
subscribe to the oath ot otBcc prescribed by law
l..r officer* of the United States.
VII. The polls shell be opened at each voting
place during the days specified, at seven o’clock
m the forenoon, and dosed at six o’clock in tbe
afternoon, and shall bo kept open between those
hours without intermtesloo or adjournment.
VIII. The Commending officer ot the Dis
trict of Georgia, will issue, through the Superin
tendent of Registration lor that State, such de
tailed instructions as may be necessary to the
conduct of said election In conformity with the
acts ot Congress, and as tar as may be with tbe
laws of Georgia.
IX. The returns required by law to be made
ot the results ot said election to the Command
ing General of this Military District, will be
rendered by the persons appointed to auperin-
tend the same, through the Commanding officer
of the District of # Gaonla, and In accordance
with the detailed instructions already referred to.
X. No Registrar, who to a candidate for elec
tion aa a delegate to the Convention, shall serve
its a Judge of tbe election in any county which
lie seeks to represent.
XI. All public bar rooms, saloons, and other
places tor tbe sale of liqaon at retail at the seve
ral county seats, shall be closed from six o’clock
ou the evening of the twenty-eighth dey of Oc
tober, uutii six o'clock on the morning of the
first dav of November, 1867. And the Sheritt
of the county shall be held responsible lor the
strict enforcement oi this prohibition, by the ar
rest of all parlies who may transgress the same.
XII. The Sheriff of each county is further re
quired to be present at the place of voting dut-
ing the whole time that the polls are kept open,
and until the election to completed, and is made
responsible that no interference with tbe judges
ol election or other interruption ol good order
shall occur. And any Sheriff or other civil of
ficer failing fo perform with energy and good
(uith the duty required of him by this order,
will, upon report made by the Judgaa of election,
be arrested and dealt with by Military Authority.
XIIL The following extract# from General
Orders No. 20, from these headquarters, are re
published herewith, for the information and gui
dance of all concerned:
•• XII. Violence, or threats ol violence, or any
other oppressive means to prevent any person
from registering hto name or exercising his poll-
tical rights, are positively prohibited; end It to |
distinctly announced that no contract or agree-;
oient with laborer*, which deprives them, of
their wages for any longer time than the); actu
ally consumed in registering or voting, will be
permitted tar be enforced against them in this Laurens,
District; and this offense, and any previously Johnson,
mentioned in this paragraph, will cause the im- Emanuel,
mediate arrest of the offender and bis trial be
fore a Military Commission.”
■■ XUL The exercise of tbe right or every
duly authorized voter, under the Isle acts ol
Congress, to register and vote, is guaranteed by
the Military Authorities of this District; and all
jH-rsons whosoever are warned against any at
tempt to interfere to prevent any man from ex
ercising this right under any pretext whatever,
other than objection by tbe usual legal mode.”
XIV. The State Senatorial Districts ol Geor
gia, as established by State laws, being found
convenient divisions of the State for tbe purpo
ses of representation in a State Convention, arc
hereby adopted, and the following apportion
ment of delegates among said Districts is made
in accordance with the provisions ot tbe second
section of the supplementary act dated March
23d, 1807.
To the 1st District—counties ol Chatham,
Brvan and Effingham, eight delegates.
To tbe 2d District—counties of Liberty, Tat
nail and McIntosh, two delegates.
To tbe 3d District—countiesof Wayne, Piurce
and Appling, one delegate.
To the 4tn District—counties of Glynn, Cam
den and Charlton, one delegate.
To the 5th District—oounties of Coffee, Ware
and Clinch, one delegate.
To the 0th District—counties of Echols,
Lowndes and Berrien, two delegates.
To the 7th District— oounties of Brooks,
Thomas aud Colquitt, three delegates.
To the 8th District—counties ol Decatur
Mitchell and Miller, three delegates.
To the 9th District—counties of Early Cal
houn nnd Baker, three delegates.
To the 10th District—counties ot Lee, Dough
