baronet was duly sought for, and, after an ex

certained that he was stationed at Camp Verde,

William S. llillyer, of New York, who became
intersted in the case, Induced Sir Frederick Bruce
11, procure the discharge ot Pollok, which waa
promptly acceded to by General Grant. The
roung Sir Hugh Crawford Pollok has, therefore,
been telegraphed for, and haa given np the oCRtt-
pation ot sboer and currier of hones to enter
upon a Scotch baronetcy and £0000 a year.
Buck Crook.—On Thursday evening it waa
reported to officer John S. Gallagher thRt there
