This It the flrtl attempt at a bread riot which ha* ever occurred in the Smith, but how long it will be until they become , mutton U take* no far-oeeing prophet to tell— The negroee all through the couutry are bvconi- mg most thoroughly demoralised under the caching* of the Radical hyenas, who counsel and incite them at every fence corner, to their nwn destruction. They now, positively, in many localities, refuse to work, will make no contracts with the planters, fully expecting a division ol the land* so long promised them by their Radi- cal leaders. Bands of from three to fifty are i naming through Miseltslppi in every direction, a terror and a nuisance, nos only to the planters, hut the Industrious of their own color. How long this state ol affairs can continue without scenes ot riot and bloodshed depends entirely upon the forbearance ot the white man. A spark may Ignite the train which will redden the Uoriaon with the blaze ot burning houses, and initiate a conflict between the races bloody and remorseless. From the National Intelligence!. The Great DeswoorMle Victory la the Em- l>lra state— MS# Democrat* Cost Ihe Lanreet Vote Ever Polled by My Patty, otficial returns from all the oouatlea give the l icmocrstio State ticket 872,892 votes, Ml ! the Helical State ticket 884,017 Votes, making a I lemocratic majority ot 49,862. The aggregate \ me in the State Is 097,908. This is much the largest vote ever cast when the election of a i inventor or a President was not Involved. In 1865, when Slocum end Barlow were can didate* for Secretary of State, Slocum received 72,763 votes, and Barlow 800,354 votes; Bar low's majority. 97,401. The comparison of this year's vote should be made with that ot 1865, when the election was lor the same class of State officers. It wid, therefore, be teen that the increased Democratic vote over 1805 it 101,1201 The in crease of tho Radical vote over J865 it 94,703. Comparingtbe vote of 1807 with the vote ol I860, when Hodmen and Fenton were candi dates for Qovernor, and we have a Democratic gain of 21,800; Radical loss, 43,298; net Demo cratic gain over 1800,08,058! The Urges! vote ever polled la this State was in 1804, when McClellan and Lincoln were can- didates for President. The aggregate vote that \.ar was 780,712. McClellan received 801,980, 'and Lincoln received 808,720. This was not only the largest vote ever cast, but each party «twwcd greater strength than had ever before turn exhibited. Thus it will be aeen that the Radical vote reached its height in 1804. The Democratic vote this year is 0,188 greater than the Radical vote of 1804, and it tbe larq KaT VOTE EVER POLLED BY ANY POLITICAL PaR- TY IS THE STATE!
