It is meant to satirize the absurd doc trine of I nglish law, that "the greater the truth the I greater tile libel.” A CASE OF libel. Stop live runaway Mulatto fcmu\\j ’■M7I1EREAS some time ago Jcmimali Armwood, a free mulatto woman, for tile sum of two liuudred dollars (to enable tier to purchase tier hus band named Richard, or more commonly called Dick Youngblood, well known in Barnwell District,'South Carolina) hound three of her girls, named Becky, about 17 years old; Tecno, about 14 ; ami Darcus, about 12, to me, to serve as indented servants,— and on Thursday, the Slh instant, she inveigled them ironi my service, and removed to parts unknown, taking with them my three servants. A reward of twenty dollars will be paid for.apnve heading the said Jemimab, her husband Dick, Becky and Teeua, und securing them in any jail and giving me information, or five dollars for either,or fifty dol lars to deliver them to me or in the Augusta Jail.— They have besides five smaller children, one u suck ing baby, and may probably have their son, named Daniel, a tall likely young man, about twenty-live years of aga, all mulnttoes, ten or eleven in num ber. They started with u cart nnd white marc. It is not known where they are going, as they told many contradictory stories of going back to North Carolina, &c.but it is supposed they arc going in company with a Mrs. Aikens, or some such name, from Barnwell district, S. C. whose husband absconded, and is in Florida—and one other tall, lank looking white man, as one was heerd in Mr. l’ayne’s shop here to ask Dick to take him along, nnd offered to be his protec tor. It is supposed they are gone to St. Mary’s, tiie Floridas, or Alabama. A further reward of $25 will be given for the ap- prehension and prosecution of any white person who may lavor their escape. Dick is about 40 or 45 years of age, short of stat , and light complected mulatto, illiterate, but keen, art ful and sensible, well acquainted with the world. It will take a very wise person to detect and keep him, fog it is ten to one.if he don’t talk himself off, as he has a hundred plausible stories to endeavor lo enlist the feelings of others in his behalf.
