T HE Trustees of the Butts county Academy take
aplensure in informing the public, that a MALE
and FEMALE SCHOOL will commence on the /rsl
Monday in Jitnnnry next. The Male department un
der the direction of Andrew Rhba, A. M. and the
Female, under that of his daughter, Eliza Asm L.
Rhea; the healthy and hnmlsomc situation of the vil
lage, its vicinity to the Indian Mineral Springs, (be
ing only 4 miles and a half distant,) the moral cha
racter of its inhabitants, together with the ncknoivleg-
ed abilities, and experience of Mr. Rhea and his daugh
ter, arc, in the opinion of the Trustees, strong induce
ments to parents and guardians to send their cliildreu
and wards here for the purpose of receivingnn educa
tion. The elasical students may be prepared to euter
any class in any of the Colleges in the Union.
The topics of literature that will he taught in the
Male department, will be reading writing, arithmetic,
English grammar, ‘Geography, the Greek and Latin
Languages, the most useful branches of the Mathema
tics and Sarveyiug-by meridian distances.
In the Female department, English grammar, Geo
graphy, Needle work, Drawing and Painting. The
terms* of tuition will bo flic same as is comhtdn in
most of the Academies in the State. Board (includ
ing washing, lodging and candles) may he had in re
