in that island. It seems the revolting blacks are
subdued-and returned to labor. It is vory certain

upon sectarian and fanatical preachers,
Captain P. informs us that 180 plantations
have been laid waste, and allowiug the slaves oh
these to equal 209 each, there must have been
36,000 involved in the insurrection.' These are

Property has greatly depreciated, {slaves tliat
were formerly estimated at from 100' to- £130
havo fallen from 15 to £30. The hlaud-has been
