CATHARTIC FILLS
OPERATE bv their powerful influence on the
internal viscera to purify tlie blood and
stimulate it into healthy action. They remove
the oh.-«t ructions of tin* stomach, bowels, liver,
and other organs of the bodv, and, by restoring
their irregular action to health, correct, wherever
they exist, such derangement* a* arc the first
causes of disease. An extensive trial of their
virtues, by Professors, Physicians and Patients,
has shown cures of dangerous diseases almost
beyond belief, wore they not substantiated by
persons of such exalted position and character
as to forbid the suspicion of untruth. Their
certificate are published in my American Al
manac which the agents below named are plea -
t'd to furnish free to all inquiring.
Annexed wo give Directions for their use in
the complaints which th ;y have been found to
cure.
For Costiveness.—Take one or two Pills, or
such quantity as to gently move the bowel*.
Oistiveness is frequently the aggravating cause
of Piles, and the cute of one complaint is the
care of both. No person can feel well while
under a costive habit of bodv. Hence it should
be, as it can be, promptly relieved
For l)vsi*ei\sia, which is sometime the cause
of i t€*B, and always uncomfortable, take
mild doses—from one to four to stimulate the
at lunch and liver into healthy action. They
will da it, and the heartburn, ho li/lnini and stttd*
hue,i v»f dyspeps a will rapidly disajifbar. When
it has gone, don’t forget what cured you.
Far a Foul Stomac t, or Morbid Inaction of th?
How A, which pro l ices general depression of
the spaits and Lad health, take from tour to
eight, Fills at llr^t, an l smaller doses afterwards,
until activity aud strength is restored to the
syste n.
‘Fir NKuvousshss, Sick Hkadwuk, Nausea,
Pin m Lie Stomach, Ji.irk, or Side, take from
fmr to eight INHs on going to bed. If they do
n it operate sufficiently, take more the uext day
u till they dThese complaints will be swept ;
out from th-' system. D m’t wear these nml
their kindred disorders because your stomach is
foul. . a j
For ScrocTla, Dry oi*kl.\s, an. I all Disea >•*.< of :
the Skin, take the Fills freely and frequently, to j
keen tli i bowels open. The eruptions will gen- j
er illy soon b 'gin t > dim nish and disappear.
Many dreadful ulcers and sores have been h ailed I
up by tin' purging and purifying effect of these :
Filip* and some disgusting diseased which seemed j
to siterate the whale system, have completely i
yielded to their influence, leaving the Mifierer in j
perfect health. Patients! your duty to society
forbids-that you should parade yourself around ;
the world, covered with pimples, blotches, ul
cers, sore.', and all or any id’ the unclean dis
eise> of the skin, because your system wants
cleansing.
To Purify th;: Blood, they arc the best medi
cine ever discovered. They should be taken
freely and frequently, and the impurities which
sow the seeds of incurable diseases will be swept
nut ot the system nko eh iff before the wind. Bv
ihis property they do as much good in prevent
ing sickness as by the remarkable cures which
they are m iking everywhere.
Liver Coxulmxt, Jaundice, and all JiiV.ou*
arise from some derangement—either .
torpidity, conge-lion, or obstruction of the Liver.
Torpidity and congestion vitiate the bile, and s
render it unlit for digestion. This is disastrous ,
to th » ho dth, aud the constitution is frequently i
undermined by no other cause. Indigestion is ;
the symptom. Obstruction of the duct which
mopties the bile into the stomach causes the bile j
to vcrflnvr into the blood. This produces jaun
dice, with a long and dangerous train of evils, i
Ovisti venters, or aTtoi ivitely costivenoss and diarr- ;
rluei, prevails. Feverish symptoms, languor,
low spirits, we iriuess, restlessness, and melan
choly, with sometimes inability to sleep, and
some times greflt drowsiness; sometimes there
is severe pain in tlie side; the skin and the white
of the eves become a greenish yellow ; the stom
ach acid; the bowels sore to the touch; tlie
whole system irritable, with a tendency to fever,
which may turn to bilimts fever, bilious colic,
bilious diarrhoea, dysentery, Ac. A medium
dose of thro© or four Pills taken at night, follow
ed by two or three in the morning, aud repeated
a few days, will remove the cause of* all these
troubles. It is wicked to suffer such pains when
you cau cure them for 25 cents.
Rheum atism, Gout, and all Infanimatoru F< -
vers, are rapidly cured by the purifying effects
of these Pills upmi the blood, and the stimulus
which they afford to tho vital princple of life.
For these and all kindred complaints, they should
bs taken m mild doses, to move tbe bowels
gently, but freelv.
4AS a Dinner Bill, this is both agreeable a;*.d
useful. No Pill can be made more pleasant to
tike, and certainly uooc has been made more
effectual to tho purpose for which a diuucr pill
is employed.

SOMETHING FOR THE MILLION!!’
pJIAIR^
WE call the attention of all, old and young,
to this wonderful preparation, which turns
back to its original color grey hair—covers the
head o! the bald with a luxuriant growth—re-
I moves the dandruff, itching, and all cutaneous
eruptions—causes a continual flow of the natural
fluids; and hence, if used as a regular dressing
1 for the hair, will preserve its color, and keep it
, from falling to extreme old age, in all its beauty.
; W« call, then, upon the bald, the grav, or dia
! eased in scalp, to use it: and surely, the young
will not, as they value the flowing locks, or the
witching curls, ever be without it. Its praise is
upon the tongue of thousands.
Waterford, Mas*., duly 25, 1855.
Prof. <). J. Wood With confidence do I re
commend your Hair Restorative, as being the
j most efficacious article 1 over saw. I have used
j the Walphene and other preparations of the day,
j all without effect. Since using your Iluir Resto
rative, my hair and whiskers, which Wire almost
| white, have gradually grown dark; and I now
j feel confident, that a few more applications will
; restore them to their natural color. It also has'
relieved me of all dandruff* and unpleasant itch
ing, so common among persons who perspire free

• Sir—lll consequence of having hair, for seve
ral years past, not only gray, but perfectly white,
I have cut it short, and worn caps to hide it from
view; but some three months si nee I was induced
to use your Hair Restorative, and 1 mint in jus
tice say, that its effects were almost miraculous;
for it lias changed it gradually to almost its for
! incr splendor us to color, and left it so soft and
i glossy as to he more beautiful than it ever was,
i when under the influence of the finest oil. I eur
ncstlv, therefore, recommend it to every lady us
decided!)’ the best preparation for toilet use, of
! anything in the world. BETSY SMITH.
! Prof. Wood Having experienced the magic
j effect of your Hair Restorative, 1 drop you this
upon the subject. About two) ears ago, inv hair
i commenced tailing off and turning gray; 1 was
fast becoming bald. I meta friend who bad used
J your Restorative, and spoke so highly of its vir
tues, 1 was induced to try it, although 1 had but
little faith, as I had before tried so many other
remedies. I commenced using your Restorative
in January lasi. A few applications fastened my
hair firmly. It began to till up, grow out, and
turned back to its former color, ( black.) At this
i time it is fully restored to its original color, health
i and appearance, and 1 cheerfully recommend its
. use to all. J. H. HOES.

Prof! O. J. Wood- Dear Sir: I take pleasure
in bearing voluntary testimony to Hie magic ef
fects of your wonderful Hair Restorative. As
. far back as 1836, my hair commenced falling off',
until the top of my sculp became bald and smooth
I as glass, and it has Continued to fall fora great
many years, notwithstanding 1 have used many
i celebrated preparations for its restoration. See
ing your advertisement, I was induced to give
i your article atrial, and, to my utter astonish
ment, I found, after a few applications, that my
! hair became firmly set, and assumed a glossy |
and beautiful appearance; and by the time f had
used a quart bottle, my bald head was covered j
over with a young and vigorous growth of hair '
which is now from one to two incites in length j
and growing fast.
Yours, truly, HENRY GOODRICH. |

Pttor. 0. J. Wood Dear Sir; After reading
the advertisement in one if tin* New York jom- j
mils, of your celebrated Hair Restorative, 1 pro- j
cured a hull-pint bottle, and was so much pleased
with it, that 1 continued its use fur two months,
and am satisfied it is decidedly the best prepara
tion before the public. It at onto removed all
dandruff and unpleasant itching from the sculp,
and lias restored my hair naturally, and, I have
no doubt, permanently so.
You have permission to refer to me, all who
entertain any doubt of its performing all that is j
claimed for it.
MISS FKEKS, 26 1-2 Greenwich Avenue.
I have used Professor O. J. Wood’s Hair Res
torative, and have admired its wonderful effects.
It restored my hair where it had fallen off; it
cleans the head, and renders the hair soft and
smooth -much more so than oil.
