SLOOP EXPERIMENT,
POE PASSENGERS ONLY.
Elihu S. Bunker,
BEOS leave to inform his friends and the public, that
he wi'l, on the firft oi July, commence running a
•loop, of about one hundred and ten tors burthen, be
tween the cities of NEW-YORK and HUDSON, for
the purpose of carrying passengers.
Few people, who have had occasion to take passage
up or down the North River, but have experienced the
inconvenience and rifque of gomg on hoard verbis
deeply loaded and lumbered on deck ; therefore cap
tain Bunker has determined to take no freight on bo arc
the Experiment, which will remedy that inconvenience
and entirely do away the rifque.
The owners of this vtlfet, being desirous to render
the passage as short, convenient and agreeable as pos
sible. have not only taken care to furniih her with the
bet! Beds, Beading, l.iquors, Ptoviiions, &c. but they
L ive been at very great expense and trouble in procur
ing mateiials and bui ding her on the bed construction
for failing and for the accommodation of ladies and geu- <
tlemen travelling on bulinessor for pleasure.
The Experiment will leave New-York every Wed
nesday evening precisely at 6 o’clock, and Hudfun
every Sunday morning at 8 o'clock, through the lea
fon.
Captain Bunker having en several veats engaged in
the freighting bufinels between New-Yoik and Hud- i
/on, his become well acquainted with every part of the
fiver; and he hopes, by attention and puuctua ity, to
Merit the patronage of ladies and gentlemen In m the
fcuthward, who may viiit the celebrated Bailston,
iiAUAToGA, and I.EUANON Springs, or trave eis
Wfho may have oecaiion to travel through the northern
flutes. The lhoitnefs of the paint, eto Hudlon, when
eompured with that to A.bany, or any place above i
Hudlon, (where the river is impeded by bars, iflar.ds
and overflows that render it mpoflihle for fail failing
Teli'els to pal's) he thinks wib iudaice moll peop e who
are acquainted with the difference, to take paifage to
Hudlon, where carriages or boats can at all times be ,
had at a moderate expenle, to convey then* to Albany,
Troy, Lanlingburgh, or the Lebanon Springs, which
are about 30 miles diflauce.
