Notice is hereby given, that in con- /
forniity with the provisions ot the act
supplementary to the act, intitul’ and
“ An act making provision for the re
demption ol the whole of the public
debt of the United States,” books wiii
be open at the ofhee of the commis
sioner of loans for Georgia, on the first
day of July next, to continue open un
til the seventeenth day of March, 1808,
inclusively, the fourteen last days of
each quarter excepted, for the purpose
of receiving subscriptions for such
parts of the old six per cent, deferred
six per cent, and three percent, stocks,
as may, on the day of subscription,
stand on the books of the said com
missioner of loans.
Those proprietors of the old six per
cent, and deferred stocks, who may
subscribe, will receive in lieu thereof
anew six per cent, stock, equal to the
unredeemed amount of the stock sur
rendered, redeemable at the pleasure
of the United States, under a proviso,
however, that no reimbursement shall
be made except for the whole amount
of any such new certificate of stock,
nor till after six months previous no
tice : and the proprietors of the three
per cent, stock who may subscribe,
will receive in lieu thereof, a six per
cent stock, equal to sixty-five percent,
of the amount of three per cent, sur
rendered, redeemable in the same
manner as the new six per cent, above
mentioned but not reimbursable, how
ever, without the assent of the holders,
until after the w hole of the new six
per cent, (given in exchange for ok.
six or deferred as above mentioned) as
well as the whole of the eight per cent,
stock of the United States, shall have
been reimbursed. It is also provided,
that in every reimbursement which
may take place, a preference will be
given to those creditors who may no
bly their wish to lye reimbursed; and
that if the applications of that effect
shall at any time either exceed or fall
short of the sum then applicable to that
purpose, the priority of payment shall,
so far as may be necessary, be deter
mined by lot.
Tfie present stock-holders who re
side'in any part of Europe, and may
assent to that modification, may, at
their option, receive the interest acc; u
ing on the new stock, either in the U
nited States as heretofore, or in Lon
don or Amsterdam, at par; in which
last case, the interest will be paid there
by the bankers of the United States,
six months subsequent to the day on
which the same would be payable
in the United States and subject to
no variation; nor to any other deduc
tion than a commission to the bankers,
of one half per cent, on the interest thus
paid.

together with an affidavit, pursuant to the acts

stantial proof being laid before the court : It is
ordered, that the said Deed of Conveyance,

ON the petition of Barrack Gibbons, es the count'/’
of Chatham, in the {late of Georgia, planter, flu
ting, that a certain deed of gift made and executed by
William M'Donald, formerly of the parish of St.
George, then province,now state of Georgia, by which
he gave and convened unto his wife ikiargaret, hi 6
for John, and his daughter Mary M'Donald, after
wards Mary < hriftie, and to the furvivot or surviv
ors of them, their heir and affigrs forever, all his es
tate, real and personal, whatsoever and wheresoever
situate, with the rights members and appurtenances to
the said landed, or real estate belonging, and the future
issue and encreafe of the female slaves, and his ft, ck of
every kind, bearing date the fir ft day of July in ihe
year ol our lord one thousand seven hundred and six
ty three, (a copy whereof as nearly as the petitioner
could recollect was annexed to the laid petition, is now
lodged in the clerk’s office together with an affidavit
pursuant to the laws of force in this state in such ca
ses) that the said deed of gift was loft, or Oeftroyed by
time, accident, or during the revolutionary war ; ami
praying the benefit intended by the laws of force in
this state, for the purpose ofeltablifhing loft papers,and
other circumstantial proof being laid before the court.
It is ordered that the said deed of gift be established
as dire ted by law, on the said Barrack Gibbon’s pub
lishing a weekly notice in one of our public Gazette®
