Notice is hereby given, that in con
formity with the provisions oi the act
supplementary to the act, intituk (
“ An act making provision for the re
demption of the whole of the public
debt of the United States,” books w ill
be open at the office of the commis
sioner of loans for Georgia, on the first
day of July next, to continue open un
til the seventeenth day of March, 1808,
inclusively, the fourteen last days ol
each quarter excepted, for the purpose
of receiving subscriptions ior ;uch
parts of the old six per cent, deferred
six per cent, and three per cent, stocks,
as may, on the day of subscription,
stand on the bocks of the said com
mi.-sioner of loans.
Those proprietors of the old six per
cent, and deferred sto< as, who maj
subscribe, w ill receive in lieu theiccl
anew six per cent, stock, equal to the
unredeemed amount of the stock sur
rendered, redeemable at the pleasure
of the United States, under a proviso,
however, that no reimbursement shall
be made except for the whole amount
of any such new certificate of stock,
nor till after six months previous no
tice : and the proprietors of the three
per cent, stock who may subscribe,
will receive in lieu thereof, a six per
cent stock, equal to sixty-fivc.p-rr cent,
of the amount of three per cent, sur
rentlered, redeemable in the same
manner as the new six per cent, above
mentioned but ne>t reimbursable, how
ever, without the assent of the holders,
until after the whole of the new six
per cent, (given in exchange for old
six or deferred as above mentioned) as
well as the whole of the eight per cent,
stock of the United States, shall have
been reimbursed. It is also provided,
that in every reimbursement which
may take place, a preference will be
given to those creditors who may no
tify their wish to be reimbursed; and
that if the applications of that effect
shall at any time either exceed or fall
>hort of the sum then applicable to that
purpose, the priority of payment shall,
so far as may be necessary, be deter
mined by lot.
The present stock-holders who re
side in any part of Europe, and may
assent to that modification, may, at
their option, receive the interest accru
ing on the new stock, either in the. L
nited States as heretofore, or in Lon
don or Amsterdam, at par; in which
last case, the interest will be paid there
by the bankers of the United States,
fix months subsequent to the day on
which the same would be payable
in the United States and subject to
no variation ; nor to any other deduc
tion than a commission to the bankers,
of one half per cent, on the interest thus
paid.

to John Caldwell, late of South-Carolina, pre
twelve hundred acres of land, situate in the lor
sent county oi Liberty, in the state of Georgia,
known by the name of Baidte’s neck ; bonneted
south and southwest on i\orth-New port river
and iand ot Robert Nobles, east and noitheast
on land of George Nobies and vacant lar.o, and
north and northvvestou vacant land, beating date
the- clay of , one thousand seven hun
ched and sixty-four; a copy v. hereof, as t.eai.y as
the petitioner could recollect, was annexed to
said petition, is new lodged in the clerk’s office,
together with an affidavit, pursuant to the acts
of this state, of force in such cases, has been
lost or destroyed ; and praying the benefit in
tended by the aforesaid acts, and other circum
stantial proof being laid before the court : It is
ordered, that the said Deed oi’ Conveyance,
from the said John Graham to John Caldwell,
for the land aforesaid, be established as direct
ed by law. on the said Thomas Young publish
ing a weekly notice, in one of our public ga
zettes of this state, for the space oi’ six calen
der months, unless good and sufficient cause
shall be shewn to the contrary, within the said
six months, or other matter shall appear to the
court against the same.

of Chatham, in the Hate of Georgia, planter, sta
ting, that acei tain deed of gift made and executid by
William M‘Dona!d, formerly of the parish of st.
George, then province, now date of Georgia, by which
he gave and convened nmo his wife IV argaret, his
for. John, and his daughter Mary M’Dcnald. after
wards Mary thriflie, and to the survivor or surviv
ors of them, their heir and assigns forever, all his es
tate, real and perfcnal, whaifoever and wheresoever
situate, with the rights members and appurtenances to
the said landed, or real eflate belonging, and the future
issue andencieafe of the lemale slaves, and his itock of
every kind, bearing date the fiifl day of July in the
year of oui lord one thouland seven hundred and six
ty three, (a copy whereof as nearly as the petitioner
could recollect was annexed to the said petition, is now
lodged m die clerk’s office together with an affidavit
puriuant to the laws offeree in this ltate in such ca
ses) that the laid deed of gift wa6 loft, or destroyed by
time, accident, or during the revolutionary war; and
praying the benefit intended by the laws of force in
