approved and fucc<-inful seminaries in the northern

T he Academy includes an Eng *., a Claflical, and a
Mathematical Hchool; also, one appropriated foie Iy to
the ■ t'ition of young ladies, which is entirely frparate
from the others The pupils, in general, are carefully
in ruffed in the various branches which are comprised
in a regular and cemp'ete F.ngiilh education. In this
courfc, in conjunflion with their Geographical lelfoni,
they are taught to delineate Maps and Charts, and to
ufc the Globes and other inftrurr.ents, illustrative cf
Geography and Aftronoiny.
In the Greek and I.atin department, the students, af
ter having laid a solid foundation in the Gtamaiar and
Other elementary books, are conduff and thro’ fich [arts
of the celebrated prose and poetical writers of antiqui
ty,as ‘ iperience and the bed ulage have shewn to be
cffi-dtuai in the formation of ready and t-adl claflical
fcho ars.
The 1-l Tons and exercises of the Mathrmatiqal School

culators, in whatever pursuit the application of their

The PUPILS attend.ng the LADIES’ SCHOOL,
